It seems like it was just last night that I was volunteering at the Children Center Summer Gala, but in reality a week has passed, and the week that was new, is old now.

It was a fun week for me, in spite of both of my falls.  I was greatly blessed by Father, as he healed me from both of them, leaving me with only a few muscle aches and pain, compared to the the damage and pain that each of the falls actually did cause.

On Wednesday, June 19th I had the opportunity to do "Scribble Drawings" with Steven P.  This is something I've never done before, and I quiet enjoyed it.  It was a way to tap into some creativity, and to learn how to do this activity with other children. It was explained that as children engage in this activity it relaxes them, and as you notice small things about their project and comment on them, as they are doing it, the child begins to open up and talk without you saying much of anything.

The project is started by you, the adult, making a scribble on a piece of paper, and then, having the child color it in, or making something from it.  When he/she is finished turn the table and have the child make a scribble for you to do in the same way.

This is what mine looked like:

On Thursday, June 20th, I called Nadine to wish her a "Happy Birthday".  I decided to put my angry and frustrated feelings that I had towards her the past couple of months aside. Years ago she started treating me real poorly, which ended up me ending our relationship for several years.

A few years ago I was going through a time of feeling and wanting to amend all relationships the best I could by asking  for forgiveness, and to forgive others for wrong doings that had happened throughout my life.  She was one that I asked for forgiveness, and I thought she had forgiven me for hurting her when ending our sisterhood.  I never did know what I did to make her treat me so poorly.  A couple of months ago I found out the reason she was so mad at me and why she was treating me so poorly.  This reopened the old wounds.  If she would have told me the reason all those years ago at that time, it would have prevented all the unnecessary pain it caused us both mentally and emotionally.

When I asked her why she didn't tell me at that time, she said, "She just let it go."  Since this recent interchange, I have let her know my feelings about letting things go.  Which is:  "When you let something go, you let it go.  You do not continue to treat that person poorly, and you don't tell, or complain to other people behind that person back, especially for years."

Once again, all the unnecessary pain...over $5.00.  How very, very sad.

Brook invited me over for dinner during the week, but I wasn't able to make it over there because of my first fall.  She invited me over again for the weekend.  She said that the her children would love to see and to spend some time with me.

As I laid in bed thinking about going over on the weekend, I though I wanted to do something with them...that was simple...and didn't cost any money.  That is how I came up with my "Play Day" with my grandchildren.  When I asked Brook what she thought, she was excited, and knew her children would love it also.

I don't think I need to write or say anything about our adventure on Friday the 21st, our faces and actions says it all.  I will say, that I was greeted at the The West Valley TRAX Station with Saige running towards me, with a bouquet of flowers and giving me a great big hug.  That made me feel so good, and was a touching/emotional moment for me.  Thank you Brook!

Moving right along.  It was the "Ward Potluck".  I enjoyed this event also.  The company and food was great!  It's also nice to get to know the ward members a little better...a more one on one bases.

And finally...it was the "Concert in the Park".  I didn't care for  the group singing.  They were good, but the music was too slow and soft, which put me to sleep.  Because of this statement and my past experiences at the concerts, some one told me today that "I have a high standards for concerts".  I had to laugh.  My only thought and response to him was:  "Maybe I'm so tiered by time I get there, that I think I want/need uplifting music that gets me going and makes me want to dance or to tap my toes.  I told him that what is more important to me than hearing the kind of music I like to hear at the concert...is that I'm going...I'm doing...that I enjoy my journey there and back.  It is always different even though it's the same.  I like what I get/feel from all those individuals that I smile and say "hi" to, and I also love watching the people around me (especially the children), and witnessing the fun and the joy they are having in the moment."

Here is my journey there and back.

My journey home on June 19, 2013.

I was asked if I had ever seen the face made out of books at the Salt Lake City Library.  I had not, but I have now.  It boggles my mind how someone could even come up with the idea, let along have it constructed.  It is beautiful and amazing.

I also got my first perfect bee shot on my way home.  This was exciting.

I took these photos outside on my balcony on June 15th.  I can't believe that the skyline is continually changing and I've only been here six months.  I'm not excited about the new apartment complex that has now changed my view.

Where in the world had the past week gone?  I don't think I even blinked my eyes and it was gone.  It was another busy week for me.  I helped Brook by taking her to her doctors and physical therapy appointments.  I utilized the time that I sat waiting by working on the paper Christmas ornaments I'm making for the Christmas Box House.

I went to the Concerts in the Park, at the Brigham Young Park on June 14th. "Octappella" was playing.  I enjoyed them a lot.  I'm always surprised at how even though they sing octappella, how they sound like there are instruments accompanying them.  There jokes, and just messing around on the stage got old, but they sounded great.

On Thursday, June 13th, I did my first volunteering with the children at the Christmas Box House.  I had a lot of fun.  I got tons of hugs from the children, and played more than I ever had since my children were that age.  I am grateful to Larry B. for all the prep he did inside of my body so that it could endure the physical stuff that I would put my body through that night, that it's not use to doing.  I was sore and exhausted when it was all over, but it was the good kind, not the kind that fries my brain and takes weeks to get over.  I will be doing the same thing on June 27th.

On Friday, June 14th, I did my first volunteering with the Children Center.  They held their Summer Gala Fundraiser.  I worked in the Silent Auction area.  I was a "Table Attendant", and after the Auction was closed I was a "Winner Announcer".

I enjoyed the evening very much.  I have never been to any kind of event like this in my life, let alone, to a formal event, or around this kind of of people, meaning influential people, and ones that have a lot of money.  Doing this event was a huge step for me, and was hard, but I did it, and I did it well, and I believe that I have grown from the experience.  Before the event started, there was an Volunteer Orientation, and after that all the Volunteers got to enjoy the $150 a plate meal that everyone else had to pay for.  It was delicious and probably the first and last time I have a $150 meal.

Thanks again to Larry B. for all the prep work he did with me.  Because of it I was able to feel at ease and like I belonged among these people.  I was able to be friendly, smile, joke, and pay them compliments during the night.  It was a lot of fun and I laughed a lot.

I had several opportunities to tell my story of how I ended up in a wheelchair, and the miraculous miracle of being healed from my fibormyalgia, and the new life I am creating for myself, and how important serving others have become in my life.

There was one lady that kept bumping into me, and as she passed me as I was announcing the auction winners, she stopped and said that I was like an angle, and that she just had to give me a hug.  It was a touching moment.
