It seems like it was just last night that I was volunteering at the Children Center Summer Gala, but in reality a week has passed, and the week that was new, is old now.

It was a fun week for me, in spite of both of my falls.  I was greatly blessed by Father, as he healed me from both of them, leaving me with only a few muscle aches and pain, compared to the the damage and pain that each of the falls actually did cause.

On Wednesday, June 19th I had the opportunity to do "Scribble Drawings" with Steven P.  This is something I've never done before, and I quiet enjoyed it.  It was a way to tap into some creativity, and to learn how to do this activity with other children. It was explained that as children engage in this activity it relaxes them, and as you notice small things about their project and comment on them, as they are doing it, the child begins to open up and talk without you saying much of anything.

The project is started by you, the adult, making a scribble on a piece of paper, and then, having the child color it in, or making something from it.  When he/she is finished turn the table and have the child make a scribble for you to do in the same way.

This is what mine looked like:

On Thursday, June 20th, I called Nadine to wish her a "Happy Birthday".  I decided to put my angry and frustrated feelings that I had towards her the past couple of months aside. Years ago she started treating me real poorly, which ended up me ending our relationship for several years.

A few years ago I was going through a time of feeling and wanting to amend all relationships the best I could by asking  for forgiveness, and to forgive others for wrong doings that had happened throughout my life.  She was one that I asked for forgiveness, and I thought she had forgiven me for hurting her when ending our sisterhood.  I never did know what I did to make her treat me so poorly.  A couple of months ago I found out the reason she was so mad at me and why she was treating me so poorly.  This reopened the old wounds.  If she would have told me the reason all those years ago at that time, it would have prevented all the unnecessary pain it caused us both mentally and emotionally.

When I asked her why she didn't tell me at that time, she said, "She just let it go."  Since this recent interchange, I have let her know my feelings about letting things go.  Which is:  "When you let something go, you let it go.  You do not continue to treat that person poorly, and you don't tell, or complain to other people behind that person back, especially for years."

Once again, all the unnecessary pain...over $5.00.  How very, very sad.

Brook invited me over for dinner during the week, but I wasn't able to make it over there because of my first fall.  She invited me over again for the weekend.  She said that the her children would love to see and to spend some time with me.

As I laid in bed thinking about going over on the weekend, I though I wanted to do something with them...that was simple...and didn't cost any money.  That is how I came up with my "Play Day" with my grandchildren.  When I asked Brook what she thought, she was excited, and knew her children would love it also.

I don't think I need to write or say anything about our adventure on Friday the 21st, our faces and actions says it all.  I will say, that I was greeted at the The West Valley TRAX Station with Saige running towards me, with a bouquet of flowers and giving me a great big hug.  That made me feel so good, and was a touching/emotional moment for me.  Thank you Brook!

Moving right along.  It was the "Ward Potluck".  I enjoyed this event also.  The company and food was great!  It's also nice to get to know the ward members a little better...a more one on one bases.

And finally...it was the "Concert in the Park".  I didn't care for  the group singing.  They were good, but the music was too slow and soft, which put me to sleep.  Because of this statement and my past experiences at the concerts, some one told me today that "I have a high standards for concerts".  I had to laugh.  My only thought and response to him was:  "Maybe I'm so tiered by time I get there, that I think I want/need uplifting music that gets me going and makes me want to dance or to tap my toes.  I told him that what is more important to me than hearing the kind of music I like to hear at the concert...is that I'm going...I'm doing...that I enjoy my journey there and back.  It is always different even though it's the same.  I like what I get/feel from all those individuals that I smile and say "hi" to, and I also love watching the people around me (especially the children), and witnessing the fun and the joy they are having in the moment."

Here is my journey there and back.
